When a Loved One Chooses You
Being selected as a caregiver is personal.
You may already understand the participant’s routines, preferences, daily needs, and way of communicating. You may already assist with meals, mobility, errands, reminders, personal care, or other authorized support.
In Consumer Directed Services, the participant selects and directs the caregiver. Valentine’s CDS supports the administrative process with onboarding guidance, required documentation, timekeeping expectations, payroll processing, and ongoing communication.
The participant remains the employer of record and directs how authorized care is provided.
Caregiving Should Be Supported, Not Left Unclear
A chosen caregiver carries meaningful responsibility inside the home. That responsibility should not come with uncertainty about onboarding, documentation, timekeeping, payroll, or what happens next.
Valentine’s CDS helps caregivers understand the requirements of the role and remain informed throughout the care arrangement.
Caregiver Compensation
Caregiver compensation is reviewed during onboarding and is subject to the approved care arrangement, program requirements, and current company pay standards.
Who This Page Is For
This page is for individuals who have been selected, or may be selected, to provide care through Consumer Directed Services.
The caregiver may be a qualifying adult family member, trusted friend, or another person chosen by the participant.
Valentine’s CDS does not assign the caregiver. The participant selects, trains, supervises, and directs the caregiver, while Valentine’s CDS supports the administrative and payroll process.
